|The Arberschutzhaus (owned by the Bayerischer Wald-Verein, operated by the ARBER-BERGBAHN).
The Arberschutzhaus is a cosy, traditional mountain hut with excellent traditional Bavarian cuisine at 1,358 metres altitude, directly below the Arber cable car.
A rustic ceramic stove provides cosy warmth inside when snowflakes are knocking at the window.
The first floor of the Schutzhaus has modern bedrooms in mountain hut style, all with shower and WC. Stay overnight right beside the ski slopes.
In the morning, there is a generous Bavarian breakfast in the Arberschutzhaus’s rustic dining room. There is storage space in the cellar with the latest drying equipment for your ski and snowboarding boots. So you will have nice warm feet when you are the first on the freshly prepared pistes the next morning. Can also be reached in winter without skis.
The hut has 12 rooms available, with a total of 41 beds, ranging from single rooms, double rooms and 4 bedded rooms, offer a variety of combinations for families and groups, individuals and couples.
For a particularly romantic stay, there is new honeymoon suite, with 4 poster bed and starry sky ceiling over the bed. The honeymoon suite with its wonderful views is not only for newly weds who have just tied the knot in the highest registry office in the Bavarian Forest, in the neighbouring Eisensteiner Hütte. It can also be booked by anyone who justs wants a special stay. Just ask for Honeymoon Room 7 when you book, and you will be in 7th heaven!
You can also book for parties such as birthdays or other celebrations.
The evening is particularly beautiful on the Arber. Enjoy the peace and quiet on the mountain and the wonderful views of the valleys of the Bavarian and Bohemian forests, on a late walk to the top of the mountain or from the terrace. There is good reason for calling it ‘The Peak of the Bavarian Forest’.
