Arber Cycling Marathon

A further highlight for…

cyclists is the Arber Cycling Marathon. It’s one of the classic routes for cycling tourists.

Set up in 1985, the marathon sent 85 cycling pioneers from Regensburg around the king of the Bavarian Forest, and the marathon’s namesake - the Großer Arber - before heading back to the Danube metropole of Regensburg.

In total, there are five different cycling routes. Around 7,000 active cycling racers take part in Germany’s largest cycling tourism event today, at up to 250km/2759m above sea level. Perfectly organised by the Veloclub Ratisbona e.V., this mega event takes place on the last weekend in July.
