Focus on Children at the new ArBär-Kinderland at the Great Arber
From the coming winter season there is a new children’s area at the highest mountain in the Bavarian Forest. Until recently, the Arber was well known for being ‘snow sure’, for having well prepared, wide pistes and for hosting World Cup races. The installation of the new 6 seater family chair lift 2 years ago, specially designed for children, heralded a new era as a family friendly ski resort. With the new children’s area at the Thurnhof, there are now perfect conditions for children and for older people returning to skiing.

There are 4 new conveyor belts, 15, 30, 70 and even 100 metres long. The children’s area starts right on the sun terrace of the Thurnhofstüberl, so that the little ones are always in view.
The first magic carpet is for the smallest skiers who have just learnt to use their skis to get used to the moving pavement. The second magic carpet goes directly to the new Kinderland at the Arber. In the flat beginners area, children learn to make their first turns and then use the 3rd or 4th moving pavement.

The moving pavements make learning to ski much quicker. They are very popular with families.
This first magic carpet leads directly to the new children’s area at the Arber. In the level beginners’ area, children learn their first turns, then comes the progression of lessons either on the 2nd or 3rd conveyor belt.

The magic carpets can transport 1,000 children per hour, so that there are no queues. The cuddly Arber mascot the ArBär, loved by children, has given its name to the new ArBär children’s area, which also contains a rest room for children, children’s toilets, and snacks and drinks in the integral meeting place.
